The quality of the ingredients can vary wildly. Many commercially produced cashew cookies are loaded with excessive sugar, unhealthy fats, and artificial flavors, masking the delicate taste of the cashews themselves. The "cashew" flavor often becomes secondary to the sweetness, turning the cookie into a generic sugar bomb with a few chopped nuts sprinkled on top.
